Design and implement career programming in the classroom + through workshops, conferences, and programs
Work collaboratively with student affairs professionals and faculty to develop, promote, and manage, programs to support students’ career and professional development
Build and maintain relationships with faculty, student affairs professionals and staff to enhance cohesiveness of career development delivery to students
Manage, promote and administer student programs utilizing online education platforms
Train students on use of career platforms, including Handshake and Gies Groups via individual and group sessions as well as classroom settings
Stay up-to-date on current industry trends as well as hiring and job search best practices for business industry roles
Partner with corporate engagement to identify potential career opportunities and to enhance student interactions with employers
Participate in admissions and recruitment events
(20%) Student Advising
Advise students on career planning in one-on-one and group settings
Conduct resume critiques, practice interviews and general career development advising
Communicate career-related information to students, including open full-time and internship positions and opportunities for leadership, employer engagement, and career exploration
Coach students to connect with alumni and other professionals currently employed in their target industry
Support international students through knowledge of the H1B Visa process, international employer recruiting activities, and international career management
Support the collection of student internship and Illini Success data
